Built because patients have waited long enough

Aptatek BioSciences is developing HomeCheck™, an aptamer-based platform for home biomarker monitoring. We started with phenylalanine because people living with PKU deserve timely answers that fit into real life, not delayed results that leave them guessing between visits.

Our ORIGIN STORY

From Columbia research to a patient-first company

Aptatek was founded on DNA aptamer technology developed in the laboratories of Dr. Milan Stojanovic and Dr. Tilla Worgall at Columbia University Medical Center. That scientific foundation opened the door to a portable, quantitative approach to phenylalanine monitoring, and to a company built around a simple belief: diagnostics should better serve patients, caregivers, and clinicians.

OUR mission

Make metabolic monitoring more timely and accessible

Our mission is to bring meaningful biomarker information closer to the people who need it most. We are starting with PKU, where patients and care teams need better visibility between clinic visits, and building toward a platform that can support additional small-molecule monitoring applications over time.

What guides us

Patient-centered. Clinically useful. Built to scale.

Aptatek is designed around the realities of care: the burden of waiting, the need for actionable data, and the importance of fitting into everyday routines. We believe home monitoring should help people make better decisions, support care teams with timely insight, and create a foundation for future applications beyond PKU.
